Thomas Frank is ‘convinced’ of something that many Tottenham fans will hate

Pressure continues to mount on Thomas Frank, yet the Tottenham manager is refusing to entertain the growing noise surrounding his future.

It only seems to be going downhill for Tottenham Hotspur after every matchweek in the Premier League.

Spurs are currently finding themselves in 16th place following a dismal run that has left them without a win in their last seven outings.

In fact, the last time Tottenham Hotspur secured three points in the Premier League was back in December when they managed a win over struggling Crystal Palace at the time.

Once again, Frank’s men fell short in the league in front of the Tottenham fans at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with Newcastle United taking all three points, ending their own poor run of three defeats in a row.

Thomas Frank adamant he will remain Tottenham manager

The Tottenham fans made their feelings very clear during tonight’s encounter, with boos ringing out at half-time and full-time, while there were chants of Frank getting sacked in the morning.

Of course, this is not the first time Frank has heard such chants following defeat, but still, the Tottenham boss is adamant that he will remain in the Spurs dugout in the coming weeks.

Speaking to football.london about whether he will still be in charge for the north London derby, Frank said: “I’m convinced I will still be in charge [for the Arsenal game]. I understand the question, and I understand it’s easy to point at me, but I also think it’s never only the head coach or the ownership or the directors or the players or the staff. It’s everyone.

“If you do something right, you build something that can last. Of course, we are not in a top position now. Everyone knows, directors, ownership, myself, what position we are in, what we need to improve and what we need to do better. That is what we are working very hard on.”

Asked if he is still the right man for the job, Frank added: “1000 per cent sure. I am also 1000 per cent sure that I never expected us to be in a situation like this with 11 or 12 injuries on the back end of this and what we’ve been facing, but I know when you need to build something and need to get through things, you need to show unbelievable strong resilience.

“I think it is fair to say there are a few before me up here not only for Tottenham but in many other clubs that have lost their head many times and I think you need to have a calm head, carry on, keep fighting and keep doing the right thing, make sure we stick together because we can only do this if we stick together.

“That is the board, that is the leaders, that is the players, that is the staff, that is me and that is the fans. We’ve got to get through this.”

Pressure building on Frank as Arsenal fixture looms

The Tottenham boss has been given enough time to try to steady the ship, but currently, the Dane looks like he is out of his depth. The injuries have undoubtedly not helped his case, but before the crisis, it was more of the same from Spurs under Frank.

The game against Arsenal in the next 12 days is a very massive one, given that Tottenham will be aiming to put a dent in the title aspirations of their biggest rivals and, with the current run of form, the chances of Tottenham being humiliated at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium are rather high – something fans will look to avoid.

Pochettino continues to push for a return to Tottenham. If there is a chance he will move to north London in the summer, then Spurs need to look to take advantage of that, and that could see Thomas Frank get sacked.
