Thomas Frank is in ‘no doubt’ he will achieve one key thing at Tottenham eventually

Thomas Frank has made an interesting revelation about the increased expectations at Tottenham Hotspur compared to Brentford.

Just a few months into his job at N17, Frank has already experienced things that he did not do across his seven seasons with the Bees.

The Tottenham boss has seen his substitutions booed by the fans, his own players being mocked by the supporters, and every single incident becoming a huge media story.

Many have also criticised Frank for not implementing a brave and aggressive style of play as he promised when he first arrived at the club.

Thomas Frank reacts to big expectations at Tottenham

Frank lost eight of his first 10 matches at Brentford, but managed to turn things around and become the most successful head coach in the club’s history.

The Dane is confident that he will have similar success at Tottenham Hotspur and insists that he can deal with the increased expectations.

Frank said (via Football.London): “This is on another scale, of course, but more like my first job in Brondby if you compare some of it. Brentford was in a different way, no doubt about that.

“You can say there is always a challenge when there are big expectations. No problem with big expectations if you have also earned the right to really compete for those big expectations, which I think it’s fair to say we haven’t done.

“I said it near the start that we have not been able to compete in a cup tournament, Europe and the Premier League in the last six years. Now we are coming from a season where we finished 17th and did fantastically to win the Europa League.

“Now we want to compete in both places, which is natural and will take a bit of time without the normal front players, the four front players who scored the only goals. No problem. We will get there. I am not in doubt, not in doubt.”

Spurs are prepared to give Frank time but fans are fed up

According to reports, Tottenham have no intentions of sacking Frank and are ready to give the Dane time to turn things around.

However, many experts feel that Frank will have to bring Spurs back into the European places if he wants to avoid the sack.

Many Tottenham fans have already written off Frank and are becoming increasingly disillusioned with his negative approach. The 52-year-old will be aware that he needs to turn things around quickly if he does not want to completely alienate the fan base.
