Thomas Frank has noticed something very interesting about the Premier League this season, and the Tottenham head coach is a fan of the new development.
There are many ways in which Tottenham are a completely different outfit to the one we saw under Ange Postecoglou.
The Lilywhites are far more solid defensively, but they are struggling to create chances with regularity, which was not a problem under Frank’s predecessor.
Another big change is that Thomas Frank has made set pieces an important part of Tottenham’s training routine, and that is showing on the pitch.

Frank’s focus on set pieces is not new, with the Dane’s Brentford side also priding themselves on how they managed defensive and offensive set pieces.
Tottenham’s North London rivals, Arsenal, are arguably the best at it across the division, but the Spurs head coach has now noticed that the level of attention on set-pieces is at an all-time high in the Premier League.
When asked about the importance put on set-pieces, Frank said (via BBC Sport): “This season I have seen a crazy peak in it. I like it. Whatever you can do to create an advantage or an extra threat, you need to look into it. You can talk about styles, but I’m looking at maximising the opportunity to score goals.”
Spurs’ set-piece coach has now landed another job
Tottenham’s improvement in deadball situations has been driven by the arrival of new set-piece coach Andreas Georgson, who has been praised by the Spurs players.
It emerged last week that Georgson has now joined Graham Potter’s coaching staff for the Sweden national side.
He now has a dual role and will be away with Sweden during international breaks, just like Spurs assistant coach Justin Cochrane, who is also part of Thomas Tuchel’s England set-up.
