Thomas Frank issues positive injury update on two key Tottenham stars ahead of Brentford

Thomas Frank has now provided an injury update on the fitness of his Tottenham Hotspur players ahead of their Premier League clash with Brentford on Thursday evening.

Thomas Frank will be aiming to do the double over his former side on Thursday evening when Tottenham Hotspur go visiting the Gtech Stadium.

The last time the two sides met, it was Frank’s side that came out on top after securing a 2-0 victory over Keith Andrews’ side at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, thanks to goals from Richarlison and Xavi Simons.

The Dane, however, will be without his Dutch playmaker, who is currently serving a suspension following a red card against Liverpool two gameweeks ago, and will have to rely on the rest of his squad to help secure back-to-back league wins following Spurs’ 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace last time out.

While Xavi Simons is unavailable for this clash, Frank has received a couple of boosts elsewhere on the injury front.

Radu Dragusin and Kota Takai returned against Crystal Palace, and while the latter was named on the bench, it was the former who picked up his first minutes since January 2025.

Cristian Romero is also back and available for selection after serving his one-match ban against Crystal Palace.

However, it was not all smooth sailing against the Eagles, as Lucas Bergvall picked up a knock and was forced off. Bergvall joined Dejan Kulusevski, James Maddison, Dominic Solanke and Destiny Udogie on the list of current Spurs absentees last gameweek.

Speaking to the official Tottenham channels, Thomas Frank provided a more positive update on the fitness of his squad and the current injury situation, addressing the availability concerns ahead of the Brentford clash.

He said (Tottenham Official): “No. Everyone should be available [of those from Crystal Palace].”

On Udogie, he said: “He is running out there on the pitch, doing individual sessions, so that’s good.”

On Bergvall, Frank added: “Lucas is OK. I am quite positive he’ll be available, there is a small doubt, but I’m pretty sure he’ll be ok.”
