Thomas Frank has made a very interesting statement to the local media in Norway after Tottenham’s 2-2 draw against Bodo/Glimt.
Unlike the Europa League semifinal at the Aspmyra Stadion five months ago, which Tottenham dominated for large parts, they were distinctly second best for the majority of Tuesday’s Champions League clash.
The Lilywhites showed plenty of fight to salvage a point after going 2-0 down in the 66th minute, and Thomas Frank has admitted that Spurs were not at their best in possession.
However, the Tottenham boss insisted that he was not surprised by Bodo/Glimt’s quality, and he has now made a very curious comment about the man who was the star of the show for the home side.

The man who posed the Lilywhites all sorts of problems on the night was winger Jens Petter Hauge, who scored both of the Norwegian side’s goals.
The 24-year-old already has 16 goal contributions across all competitions for Bodo/Glimt, and Frank has now revealed that he previously tried to take the wide-man to Brentford.
The Tottenham boss told TV2 about Hauge: “He was fantastic. I actually tried to sign him for Brentford a long time ago. It was good to see him again. I knew he was good and today he was exceptional.”
When asked about the possibility of taking the 25-year-old to Tottenham, the 51-year-old responded: “You never know what the future holds.”

TV2 then caught up with the Bodo/Glimt striker to ask him about his failed move to Brentford.
Hauge admitted that he had a lengthy conversation with the Tottenham head coach and revealed that he came close to moving to the Gtech Community Stadium.
The Norway international said: “I had a Zoom meeting with him (Frank). We were close a few years ago. We had a good talk out on the field. He’s a fantastic coach, who has done incredibly well. It was close once, but it never quite worked out.”
