Thomas Frank responds to Fabio Paratici rumours after Matt Wells leaves Tottenham

Thomas Frank has revealed whether he has been speaking to Fabio Paratici as the Tottenham sporting director continues to be heavily linked with a move to Fiorentina.

Reports in Italy are abuzz that Fiorentina want Paratici to be their new head of football, just two months after he returned to Spurs as the club’s co-sporting director, alongside Johan Lange.

Some sources have even suggested that Paratici is edging closer to leaving Spurs for Fiorentina, and this has caused some alarm bells at the North London club.

Losing the Italian so close to the January window could come as a blow for the Lilywhites, and Thomas Frank has now been asked about that possibility.

Thomas Frank refuses to discuss Fabio Paratici’s rumoured Tottenham exit

When the rumours about the Italian were put to Frank, he batted them away, but he did make an interesting revelation.

The Tottenham boss revealed that he spoke to both Paratici and Lange following his side’s 2-1 loss to Liverpool, which suggests that the former Juventus director remains involved at the club.

When asked about the rumours linking Paratici with an exit from Spurs, Frank told Football.London: “I think, first and foremost, it’s not the first rumour I need to speak about. If it’s a staff director or player, in general I’m not speaking about that. I just try to focus on the Crystal Palace game and probably also something for someone higher up in the club.”

When asked if he has spoken to Paratici since Saturday, the 52-year-old responded: “We spoke after the game. We spoke both to Fabio and Johan. But these days, it’s Christmas, so I think everyone, when you have the privilege to be able to work from home, in this case, Johan and Fabio, I think it’s fair they do that.”

Spurs have not been contacted regarding Paratici

Reports indicate that Tottenham were surprised to read reports linking Paratici with a move to Fiorentina, with the club learning of the talks from the media.

They allegedly have not heard anything from the Italian, who has two years left on his contract, about a potential exit.

According to Sky Sports’ Michael Bridge, Spurs have also not been contacted by Fiorentina about their sporting director.
