Thomas Frank reveals seven week Tottenham injury but good news on four stars

Tottenham Hotspur return to Premier League action this weekend with a London derby looming, and Thomas Frank has offered fresh clarity on the fitness of his squad ahead of West Ham United’s visit.

Tottenham Hotspur return to Premier League action following their abrupt FA Cup exit last weekend.

Aston Villa repeated the same trick as this season, knocking Tottenham out of the FA Cup and leaving them with just the Premier League and Champions League to compete in.

Next up for Spurs, however, is a London derby, with West Ham United set to visit the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and Thomas Frank’s side will be hoping to complete the double after thrashing the Hammers 3-0 earlier in the campaign.

Thomas Frank provides Tottenham injury update before West Ham United clash

It is no secret that Tottenham are navigating an injury crisis, with six players currently sidelined and two others away on international duty.

Lucas Bergvall could return for the fixture, while Rodrigo Bentancur’s injury sustained in the last Premier League encounter against Bournemouth has ruled him out for three months.

Richarlison is the latest to join the treatment table after picking up what appears to be a hamstring problem, and Frank now reveals he will face an extended period out.

At the same time, Thomas Frank has also provided a timeline on Dejan Kulusevski, with the Swede facing another four to six weeks before returning to the squad.

James Maddison continues to make positive strides in his recovery, a welcome sign for Tottenham as they look to regain creativity in midfield.

Spurs did receive a boost during the FA Cup tie, however, as Dominic Solanke made his long-awaited return after six months out, alongside Destiny Udogie.

Ahead of the West Ham United clash, Thomas Frank has now provided an injury update on his Tottenham squad.

Speaking to the official Tottenham channels, Frank said: “Richy (Richarlison) unfortunately got a hamstring injury which will keep him out for up to seven weeks.

“Lucas Bergvall could be available, hopefully be available for Saturday. (Yves) Bissouma is back, so he is available as well.

“Both Destiny (Udogie) and Dom (Dominic Solanke) are close to finishing a good week of training, so they are a bit closer. Both will be involved and available (at West Ham), but they are closer to playing even more minutes, so that’s positive. They look good, both of them.”
