Thomas Frank reveals why he is ‘confident’ of avoiding Tottenham sack

Thomas Frank has explained why he has no immediate fears of losing his job at Tottenham Hotspur, despite the club’s wretched home form.

The Frank era at Spurs has been eerily similar to Nuno Espirito Santo’s short stint at the club.

The fans are complaining about the team’s negative style of play, the atmosphere at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has turned toxic, and results are worsening with each passing week.

Nuno did not last long in the job, but it is not Daniel Levy calling the shots anymore at N17, with a new leadership group taking over at Tottenham this summer.

Thomas Frank is confident that Tottenham’s owners are not about to sack him

Reports have indicated that the Lewis family will not take any knee-jerk decisions on Frank, and they view it as a long-term project.

The Tottenham boss is convinced that the current owners understand time is needed to build something of value and that they are not about to call time on the project.

When asked how confident he is that he will be given time at Spurs, Frank responded (via Football.London): “I’m very confident. I think the ownership – of course, I’m just starting to know them – but it seems like they’re good guys, intelligent people. They know how to run businesses, and learning about football, learning more now that they’ve become owners.

“I think when we’re dealing with intelligent people, they can see every successful dynasty, every successful club has taken time. Yeah, you have one where you maybe win one year or the second year, but you can’t sustain it if you don’t build something sustainable. It’s impossible.”

Spurs want to follow Arsenal’s example with Mikel Arteta

It has been claimed that the Lilywhites are prepared to take a leaf from the book of their North London rivals on how they handle their managerial situation.

That is according to journalist Dean Jones, who said last week that Tottenham want to follow what Arsenal did with Mikel Arteta, who was backed through some extremely challenging times by the Gunners in the first couple of seasons.

Jones claimed that Spurs are not panicking and that the club’s board are prepared to show a similar level of faith in Frank to the one the Emirates hierarchy did in the Spaniard.

Interestingly, the man calling the shots at Tottenham is now CEO Vinai Venkatesham, who was Arsenal’s chief when Arteta was going through his early struggles.
