Thomas Frank says Tottenham outcast could still force his way back into the team

Thomas Frank has spoken about Yves Bissouma’s situation at Tottenham and has provided an update on the Mali international’s knee injury.

It is now public knowledge that the only reason the former Brighton man is still at Spurs is due to the injury he suffered in the latter stages of the transfer window.

It has been confirmed that Bissouma’s proposed move to Galatasaray and Fenerbahce fell through due to his fitness issues.

With the 28-year-old now into the final year of his contract, Bissouma is expected to leave N17 during the January window.

Thomas Frank sheds light on his relationship with Yves Bissouma

Frank left Bissouma out of the Super Cup clash against PSG due to disciplinary issues, and since then, many have speculated that the midfielder may not have a way back at Tottenham.

However, the Spurs head coach has now asserted that he bears no ill will toward the Malian and opened the door for him to get game time once he recovers fully from his injury.

When asked about his relationship with Bissouma, Frank said (via Football.London): “There are no hard feelings at all. Not before, not now, not at all. Train well and everyone has an opportunity.

“He has just started to run outside, so he is not part of the group but everything I’ve seen when I’ve said hello to him and every day with the players, he seems good.”

Clubs are already queuing up to sign Bissouma in January

Even though Frank might have opened the door for Bissouma to stake a claim in the Tottenham team, that looks very unlikely unless there is an injury crisis in midfield.

According to reports over recent days, Everton and West Ham are already queuing up to land Bissouma in January.

The Hammers have been installed as the favourites to win the race for the Tottenham man, who is thought to prefer remaining in London.
