Thomas Frank sets sight on Brentford star but Tottenham have one problem

Thomas Frank wants to reunite with a Brentford star at Tottenham Hotspur, if he is able to keep his job in North London.

Spurs are well stocked with top options at centre-back, with Kevin Danso once again proving against Borussia Dortmund that he is an able deputy for either Cristian Romero or Micky van de Ven.

However, Radu Dragusin is pushing to leave Spurs before the end of the transfer window, while Ben Davies is now out with a long-term injury.

That may force the Lilywhites to enter the market for a centre-half, and Frank wants to reunite with a familiar face.

Tottenham eyeing move for Brentford centre-back

The Daily Mail say that Frank is a big fan of Brentford captain Nathan Collins and wants to bring him to Spurs.

This is not the first time that Tottenham have been linked with Collins, with the Lilywhites reportedly also showing interest in the Bees star last summer.

However, The Mail point out that there is one issue with the Dane’s transfer desire, and it is that the 52-year-old is far from guaranteed to be Tottenham’s head coach for much longer.

Is the uncertainty over Thomas Frank’s future affecting Spurs’ January business?

Tottenham have completed two signings this window, bringing Conor Gallagher and Souza through the door.

However, it was reported at the start of the transfer window that signing a left-winger would be Spurs’ priority, but the North Londoners have dragged their feet in getting a wide player through the door.

That might be down to the uncertainty over Frank’s future at Spurs. The club’s hierarchy may be hesitant to spend big on the Dane’s targets, as there is the risk that whoever replaces him may prefer a different profile.
