Managerial candidate makes his feelings clear about taking Tottenham Hotspur job

The dismissal of Ange Postecoglou has Tottenham Hotspur searching for a new head coach to replace the outgoing Australian.

There was no room for sentiment by chairman Daniel Levy after Tottenham sacked Ange Postecoglou as head coach on the two-year anniversary of his appointment.

Postecoglou’s departure has angered some Tottenham players who were close to the Australian with the incoming manager facing a task to repair the dressing room following the board’s decision.

The 59-year-old became the fifteenth manager to be sacked by Daniel Levy during the Spurs chairman’s reign with not even winning the Europa League being enough to keep him in a job.

Thomas Frank makes his Brentford future clear

Tottenham have turned to Thomas Frank to replace Postecoglou as the club’s next head coach and now reports have shared some detail on the Dane’s future.

Journalist Ben Jacobs has taken to social media platform X to reveal that Frank has told Brentford that he wants to make the move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this month.

Jacobs wrote: “Thomas Frank has told Brentford he wants to leave for Spurs.

“Frank’s camp are already in talks over terms, with the Brentford boss the clear frontrunner to replace Ange Postecoglou.”

The 51-year-old has been in charge of Brentford since October 2018 and guided the Bees to the Premier League in 2021 and have since established them as a top-flight club.

Tottenham need to complete the Frank deal and fast

Tottenham fans are all too aware of what happens when the club hang around and leave their transfer decisions until late in the window.

With the club having secured a return to the Champions League and having struggled to compete on multiple fronts last season in the Premier League and Europa League, there has to be substantial investment in the Tottenham first-team squad this summer.

Frank must be backed heavily in the market to improve the squad, injuries last season to key players such as Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven and James Maddison derailed the Premier League campaign and it simply cannot happen again, otherwise, Frank could face a similar face to his predecessor.

Frank has previously worked with Tottenham’s technical director Johan Lange, and was in the mix for the Aston Villa job while Lange was at Villa Park. They worked together at Danish side Lyngby and hopefully this bodes well in N17.
