Thomas Frank’s first game as Tottenham manager just changed with new announcement

Tottenham Hotspur have added another fixture to their busy pre-season schedule, confirming that they will be taking on an EFL side in what will be Thomas Frank’s first fixture in charge as things stand.

The new Spurs head coach has his work cut out this summer, with Thomas Frank needing to get the Spurs squad adjusted to a new way of playing.

Frank already has a big to-do list at the start of pre-season, including ironing out the futures of Cristian Romero and Heung-min Son.

The 51-year-old will already have half an eye on Tottenham’s pre-season tour to Asia, which includes a first-ever North London derby to be played outside of UK soil.

Tottenham announce clash against Reading in July

Earlier this month, Spurs announced they would take on Luton Town at Kenilworth Road on Saturday, 26 July, which was set to be the first clash of Tottenham’s pre-season.

However, Tottenham Hotspur have now announced a fixture a week before that, confirming that they will be playing League One side Reading on July 19.

Spurs will travel to Select Car Leasing Stadium, formerly the Madejski Stadium, to take on the Royals, who finished just outside the Play-Off spots in League One last season, with kick-off scheduled for 3 pm.

Who else will Tottenham face in pre-season?

As mentioned earlier, Spurs have confirmed they will be playing Arsenal in Hong Kong this summer with the fixture scheduled for Thursday, 31 July at the newly opened 50,000-seater Kai Tak Stadium.

Tottenham will face Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena as part of the Telekom Cup after the Bundesliga club featured in a friendly at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last summer.

Spurs have also announced that they will be playing Newcastle United as part of the 2025 Coupang Play Series in South Korea.
