Thomas Tuchel reveals if he expects N’Golo Kante to play against Tottenham

In what comes as a big boost to Chelsea ahead of their London derby against Tottenham this Sunday, Thomas Tuchel has now confirmed that N’Golo Kante is available to play the match after recovering from injury.

Chelsea come into the game unbeaten in the Premier League, with their 1-1 draw at Anfield two weeks ago being the only game in which the Blues have dropped points so far.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s men certainly face a stern test, particularly given that some of their key players, including Eric Dier and Son Heung-min, are doubts for the clash.

However, it looks as though Chelsea are set to be near full strength, with Tuchel confirming that Kante is available for the clash.

The Chelsea boss had insisted earlier this week that he was hopeful of the Frenchman being fit for Sunday but reports subsequently indicated that the 30-year-old was in a race against time to be involved in the match.

However, the German coach has now cleared all doubts over Kante’s availability in his pre-match press conference.

Tuchel said (via Football.London): “No fresh injury concerns. Christian (Pulisic) is trying to come back as fast as possible but is not in the squad. N’Golo is in full shape and ready to play.”

Spurs Web Opinion

This is not good news for Spurs as this essentially guarantees that Chelsea will win the midfield battle. The prospect of a Kovacic-Kante-Mount midfield going up against Skipp-Hojbjerg-Dele is not one that fills me with confidence.
