Three first team stars out for Inter Milan ahead of Tottenham Champions League clash

Inter Milan could be without three key first team stars ahead of their Champions League home tie against Tottenham tomorrow evening.

Tottenham and Milan were drawn in a group with Barcelona and PSV.

While Tottenham are almost back to a full compliment of stars, Inter Milan look to be without Sime Vrsaljko, Danilo D’Ambrosio and Lautaro Martinez for the crucial tie.

Vrsaljko picked up an injury on international duty with Croatia, and missed the game against Parma.

D’Ambrosio had to leave the action early in Inter’s last game, after failing to recover from an injury sustained early on in the match.

Inter Milan boss Luciano Spalletti already confirmed early in the week that striker Lautaro Martinez was a heavy doubt for the Tottenham game after picking up an injury with the Argentina squad.

Spalletti said: “Sime will not be available, while we will have to assess Danilo because he came off injured and could not recover.”

“An MRI scan showing that he is still struggling with a hematoma in the soleus muscle of his left leg,” Inter announced via Football Italia .

“Martinez’s condition will now be reassessed over the next few days.”

This could be exactly the piece of good news that Tottenham need at the moment, after sustaining two successive Premier League losses.
