‘Three prominent names’ – Report reveals Jules Kounde update for Spurs

Estadio Deportivo have reported that there are now three prominent names on the table in the race for Sevilla centre-back Jules Kounde, Tottenham Hotspur, Real Madrid and Manchester United.

It is also said that Madrid and United will only be interested in the Sevilla man depending on the future of Raphael Varane. This seemingly implies that if Varane leaves Madrid, Los Blancos will be interested and if Man United cannot sign Varane, they will be.

The report claims that Nuno and Spurs are aware that they cannot compete financially with these European heavyweights and are therefore waiting to see what happens with Varane.

Not only this, but Tottenham would also have to meet the demands of Sevilla, who are said to want between €60m and €70m for the player (£52m-£60m).

It was reported last week by La Colina de Nervión that Spurs were set to bid €58.3m or £50m for the centre-back, but the figure was short of Sevilla’s asking price.

Spurs Web Opinion:

Tottenham need to move fast this summer. If this Kounde deal is going to drag on due to Man United and Real Madrid, then it is time to look elsewhere. If they want a big-name signing for around £50m then Skriniar seems the best bet.
