Three Spurs players are now one booking away from suspension

According to the Premier League’s website, Pape Matar Sarr, Cristian Romero and Dejan Kulusevski will pick up a one-match suspension if they are booked against Brighton.

The Premier League rules state that players who pick up five bookings until Gameweek 19 will be suspended for one match, which is why Destiny Udogie had to sit out the game against Everton after picking up a fifth booking of the season against Nottingham Forest.

Yves Bissouma still has three games left in his four-match suspension after picking up his second red card of the season in the 2-0 win over Forest.

Three Tottenham players close to suspension

Sarr, Kulusevski and Romero all sit on four bookings each at the moment, which means that a yellow card for any of the three players at the Amex Stadium means that they would be unavailable for the clash against Bournemouth on December 31.

The rule of five yellow cards only extends until Gameweek 19, which means that if the trio escape without a booking on Thursday, they will not have to worry about a suspension anytime soon.

After the passage of Gameweek 19, rules state that the players who pick up 10 yellow cards before their team’s 32nd fixture will face a two-match ban.

Spurs Web Opinion

Postecoglou will be desperately hoping that the three players come through unscathed without a yellow card against the Seagulls as Spurs cannot afford to lose any of those three, given the injuries and suspensions they are dealing with at the minute.
