Three Spurs players make Daily Mail’s Team of the Season so far

Three Tottenham Hotspur players have made it into The Daily Mail’s Team of the 2020/2021 season so far.

While Harry Kane and Son Heung-min obviously pick themselves on the back of the blistering start they have had to the campaign, The Mail have also picked Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in their starting eleven.

The Dane is certainly deserving of his place in the team, having quickly established himself as a mainstay in the Tottenham side.

His performances are one of the main reasons behind Spurs’ defensive improvements and it can be argued that the midfielder is as important to the Tottenham side as Kane and Son are.

The 25-year-old has arguably been the signing of the summer so far, particularly considering that Spurs paid only around £15m to snap him up from Southampton.

While The Mail has gone with Alex McCarthy in goal, a back four of Reece James, Wesley Fofana, Thiago Silva and Andy Robertson.

Hojbjerg starts in holding midfielder behind a three of Son, Jack Grealish and Bruno Fernandes, while Kane is partnered by Dominic Calvert-Lewin in attack.

Emiliano Martinez, Ben Chilwell, Michael Keane, Tariq Lamptey, Declan Rice, Mohamed Salah and Jamie Vardy make up the bench.

Hojbjerg, Kane and Son certainly deserve to make the eleven given the level they have performed at this season. Hugo Lloris should have at least made the bench considering how many crucial points he has won us this season.
