Even though Tottenham were held to a 2-2 draw against Burnley, three of their players made it into WhoScored’s Premier League Team of the Week.
Spurs needed their two centre-backs, Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero, to once again step up with goals to avoid another defeat to a team in the relegation zone.
The performance did little to convince Tottenham fans that the club are justified in sticking with their current head coach.
However, Thomas Frank defended Spurs’ performance at Turf Moor, insisting that it was not a bad display by his side.
Three Tottenham players post impressive numbers against Burnley
Whether one agrees with Frank’s assessment of Spurs’ overall performance or not, there is no denying that there were some strong individual performances from the Lilywhites.
In fact, three of Tottenham’s players have made it into WhoScored’s Premier League team of the Week for Gameweek 23.
Cristian Romero, Djed Spence and Wilson Odobert all find a place in the eleven. Romero was handed an 8.15/10 for his goalscoring performance, while Spence got an 8.03/10.
In fact, Odobert got the highest rating of any player across the weekend, getting an 8.69 out of 10 for his display against his former side.
Things get tricky in the Premier League for Spurs over coming weeks
Tottenham are a team devoid of confidence at the moment, and the players know that their manager is not guaranteed to be in charge for much longer.
It is thus far from ideal that they are now set to face Man City, Man United, Newcastle United and Arsenal back-to-back over the coming weeks.

The North Londoners, who are currently eight points clear of West Ham in 17th, may thus be at risk of being pulled closer to the relegation zone.
