Three Tottenham players named in Premier League Team of the Week

After the 4-1 win over Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur’s Pedro Porro, Richarlison, and Heung-min Son have been named in Sofascore’s Premier League team of the week.

Spurs hadn’t won a game since the end of October, losing to Chelsea, Wolves, and Aston Villa through November, before drawing to Manchester City and falling to a defeat against West Ham in the last week.

Ange Postecoglou got exactly the reaction he would have wanted from his players at the weekend, with the Lilywhites putting in a dominant performance at home to Newcastle United.

Destiny Udogie scored his first goal for Spurs, Richarlison bagged a brace which will have done his confidence the world of good, and Heung-min Son completed the rout with a penalty.

The Magpies did pull back a goal late on through Joelinton, but Tottenham were more than good value for the win.

Premier League team of the week bossed by Spurs

According to Sofascore, Spurs were the big winners of the weekend, with three of their players making the Premier League team of the week.

Pedro Porro slots in at right back with a rating of 8.5 out of 10, after registering another assist, and also playing in Son for the move that led to the penalty.

Richarlison is chosen to lead the line after his goalscoring exploits, carrying a score of 8.6 out of 10. The Brazilian took his tally to four goals for the season (Transfermarkt).

It was Son who stole the show, though, with a goal and two assists giving him a score of 9.5 out of 10 and making him the standout player of the week by quite some distance.

Spurs Web Opinion

It feels good to see Spurs win again and to have players recognised for their efforts. You cannot argue against the picks either – Porro was fantastic as always, and created so many dangerous situations; Richarlison got those much-needed goals; and Sonny was electric down that left-hand side.
