THST request meeting with Spurs board to set out plans for club including ‘DNA’

The Tottenham Hotspur Supporters’ Trust (THST) have requested a meeting with the Executive Board in a bid to sit down and discuss the club’s long-term direction.

Tottenham started the season having won their first three Premier League matches, but following the international break have been comprehensively beaten in their last three top flight outings by Crystal Palace, Chelsea and Arsenal.

Chairman Daniel Levy admitted in an end-of-season letter to supporters in May that the club “lost sight of some key priorities and what’s truly in our DNA” , in which he promised to appoint a new manager committed to attacking football and blooding young players.

Nuno’s appointment has seen Tottenham fail to live up to the promise of attacking football with Paulo Fonseca, who was heavily linked with succeeding Jose Mourinho admitting that he was close to taking up the job until Fabio Paratici closed the book on a deal due to the Italian wanting a wanting a less attack-minded coach (The Telegraph).

The THST revealed they have been contacted by some of their members and supporters in general who are growing concerned about the direction of the club and are currently awaiting a response to their request for a meeting to take place.

In the wake of the European Super League fiasco, the THST called upon for the board’s full resignation.

A statement on the official THST website read: “Over the past few weeks we’ve been contacted by an increasing number of Trust members and the wider fan base who are extremely concerned about the current direction of THFC.

“Part of our role as a Trust is to ensure the Club’s Board are fully aware of supporter sentiment. So we have asked for a meeting with the Club’s Executive Board to discuss both the short and long-term strategic vision for the football club.

“The Club’s Board will be aware of the questions currently being asked by the Trust, by fans and by the media. This meeting, therefore, is an opportunity for the decision makers at THFC to explain their plans to supporters. This explanation should include plans for this season and beyond, an explanation of how success will be measured and how the Club’s DNA will be regained.

“We await their response, and will update on our website as soon as there is any news.”
