Tim Sherwood identifies Tottenham’s most improved player

Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Tim Sherwood believes that Moussa Sissoko is the most improved player at the club.

The midfielder experienced a tough first two seasons at the club following his £30million move from Newcastle United (Sky Sports) and soon became the subject of frustration from large pockets of the Spurs fan base.

After undergoing his first full pre-season with the club since his move, Sissoko has looked like a completely different player at times during the current campaign.

Impressive performances in his last three outings against Crystal Palace, Chelsea and Inter Milan have seen fans singing his name from the stands, rather than criticise.

Moussa Sissoko

Tottenham have now lost just one of their last 23 games in which Moussa Sissoko has started.

Such has been Sissoko’s turnaround in form, he was recently recalled to the French squad for the first time in a year.

While Sherwood admits that Sissoko isn’t exactly his favourite player at the club, he has acknowledged the difference in his performance this season.

Sissoko has made seven starts and one substitute appearance in the Premier League for Spurs this season.

Sherwood told Sky Sports: “Sissoko is not my favourite player, but they sung his name the other night against Inter Milan. He is the most improved player they have got at the football club.”
