Tim Sherwood has praised the performance of Harry Kane in Tottenham’s 3-1 win over West Ham on Sunday.
Spurs kept the up the pressure on Arsenal in the race for the top four as they cruised past a flat Hammers side, who felt the after-effects of their Europa League triumph against Sevilla in midweek.
Antonio Conte’s men took an early lead courtesy of an own goal by Kurt Zouma, before Heung-min Son added a second on 24 minutes following a stunning pass from Kane.
The pair were involved again deep into the second half as the England captain flicked Son through on goal, who sealed a crucial three points for Spurs past Lukasz Fabianski.
Kane, who missed a handful of good chances on the night, never managed to get on the scoresheet but was instrumental in having a hand in all three Spurs goals.
The performances particularly impressed Sherwood, who felt West Ham afforded him too much time and space to let him operate.
He told Premier League Productions (March 20): “The weight of pass is exquisite. He doesn’t have any control problems.
“They [West Ham] are too native because they need to stop Harry Kane. You stop this guy, then you stop a large part of what Tottenham have going forward.
“He creates all of the time when he comes deep. Earlier on in the season, we were criticising him for coming deep. He comes deep for a reason because he is the one who can find a pass.
“When he picks it up, his touch is exquisite, he knows the right pass at the right time. Everyone moves because he can look after possession. He’s the killer. The kingpin out there. You need to get around him – he is too good to leave unattended. You need to give him attention.”

Kane was again so influential for Spurs and he really drove them forward despite not getting on the scoresheet.
He played plenty of amazing balls through to Son who was there to finish them off and he had chances himself to notch, but it wasn’t to be.
That performances will definitely keep his confidence up heading into he international break so he can come back firing ahead of the important end of season run-in.
