Tim Sherwood praises Fabio Paratici over one particular transfer since joining Spurs

Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Tim Sherwood has praised the impact which Dejan Kulusevski has had since arriving at the club.

The Swedish international joined Tottenham on an 18-month loan deal worth £8.3m, consisting of £2.5m this season and £5.8m next season, along with an obligation to make the deal permanent for £29.2m if certain sporting criteria are met (Sky Sports).

Sherwood has credited Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici for bringing him to the north Londoners from Juventus, believing the 21-year-old has adapted seamlessly to the rigours of the Premier League.

Paratici joined Tottenham last summer after ending his 11-year stint as Juventus’ sporting director and raided his former club during the January transfer window after Kulusevski found himself in and out of the Old Lady side following the return of manager Massimiliano Allegri.

Conte admitted earlier this month that he was excited about Kulusevski’s potential at Tottenham believing he possesses the physical attributes and technical ability to be a success (Yahoo).

Sherwood claimed the £29million fee to secure Kulusevski’s services on a permanent basis is a bargain in today’s transfer market and believes there is no doubt that they will trigger the deal at the end of the current campaign.

He told Matchday Live on Optus Sport: “Amazing… I can’t tell you how difficult it is to play in the Premier League and for a foreign player to come over, some superstars have come from abroad and been absolutely rubbish, but this boy has taken to it like a duck to water,”

“He’s 21 years of age. They’ve got an option to buy him for £29million. Now, when he first came and he hadn’t played, you thought it might be a lot of money, it is an absolute snip at the moment.

“This boy has got an eye for a goal, he’s settled in with world class players up front with him, he’s enjoying his time now. Without doubt, they are going to trigger the option at the end of the season.

“He’s an asset to the football club, he will only get better. Absolutely outstanding. We have to give Antonio Conte and Paritici (credit).

“It is not about how much you spend on players; it is about who you bring in. It’s 29 million, it’s a cup of tea, it’s nothing in the Premier League now compared to what we’ve seen other clubs waste on players, that is an absolute snip. They’ve found him, they know him, they trusted him, they’ve brought him to the club and knew he could settle in and he has so quickly.”

Kulusevski’s impact since moving from Serie A has been one of the main reasons why Spurs now find themselves fourth in the table.

He has integrated into a potent front three to compliment Heung-min Son and Harry Kane while equally impressive is his dedication to track back and help out defensively when his side are not in possession.
