‘Time to focus’ – Spurs youngster sends message after injury ends loan spell

Tottenham winger J’Neil Bennett has taken to social media after an injury cut short his loan spell at Crewe Alexandra.

Bennett, who has been a regular for the Under-23s in recent seasons, made his first-team debut for Spurs as a substitute against Pacos de Ferreira in the first leg of UEFA Europa Conference League play-off at the start of this season.

The 19-year-old then completed a loan move to Crewe later that month and was getting regular football under his belt at the League One club.

The winger scored once and registered an assist in his ten appearances for the Railwaymen. However, the youngster’s loan spell at the Mornflake Stadium came to a premature end after suffering an ankle problem in training.

Crewe confirmed on Tuesday that Bennett’s injury will keep him out between 10-12 weeks and that the winger will return to Spurs for his rehabilitation.

The Spurs academy man has now taken to Instagram to thank the League One club for their help.

Spurs Web Opinion

It is a shame that Bennett’s loan spell has been cut short in the manner it has as the youngster was going quite well and showing signs of maturing with each game under his belt. Hopefully, he can make a swift return to action and Spurs can work out another loan deal for the winger for the second half of the campaign.
