Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of striker Timo Werner on a six-month loan deal from RB Leipzig.
Werner left RB Leipzig for Chelsea in a £47.5 million transfer back in 2020 but was unable to replicate his Bundesliga goalscoring form and struggled to hold down a place in the starting eleven at Stamford Bridge, scoring 23 goals in 89 appearances across all competitions (transfermarkt).
Tottenham’s attacking options have been left limited after club captain Heung-min Son reported for duty with South Korea at the Asia Cup and could be away from N17 for as much as six weeks if they manage to progress to the final in Qatar.
