Timo Werner reveals who his toughest opponent in Tottenham training is

Timo Werner has admitted that Cristian Romero is the toughest opponent to come up against in training at Hotspur Way, given how aggressively he defends.

Over the last few weeks, Werner has started to show signs of adapting to his new surroundings, his teammates, and Tottenham’s style of play, with his performances continuing to improve.

The 28-year-old has found the back of the net in Tottenham’s last two wins over Crystal Palace and Aston Villa, and Ange Postecoglou will be hoping that the forward can keep his run of form going through the business end of the season.

According to some reports, the staff at Spurs have been impressed with the impact that the German international has made and the way he conducts himself off the pitch, with the club said to planning on taking up the £15m option to sign him permanently in the summer (Dean Jones – Sports Lens).

Werner reveals Romero is his toughest opponent

Werner has now been speaking to the Premier League’s Official Instagram page about the toughest opponents he has come up against in his career as well as in training at Spurs.

When asked to name his hardest opponent, the forward said: “Kyle Walker. Because he’s that fast and he’s strong.”

When asked which of his teammates he finds it quite hard against in training, Werner responded: “Oh… That’s also difficult. I think Micky is very fast. Cuti is very aggressive also in training. I think probably Cuti because he likes to tackle and he’s very good at what he’s doing, so probably him.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Romero must be an absolute nightmare to go up against in training. I am pretty sure none of the attackers will be brave enough to go into 50-50s against the Argentine as he certainly does not shy away from going in hard.
