‘To progress in negotiations’ – Fabrizio Romano update on Spurs-linked Brozovic

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Inter Milan are making progress in negotiations with rumoured Tottenham target Marcelo Brozovic over a new contract.

Brozovic’s current contract runs out at the end of the season and reports have indicated that Antonio Conte wants to reunite with the midfielder at Tottenham.

TuttoMercatoWeb revealed last week that Inter had not been able to meet Brozovic’s wage demands and that negotiations between the parties had stalled.

However, Inter CEO Giuseppe Marotta confidently asserted this week that he is confident the Croatian international will commit his future to the Nerazzuri.

Fabrizio Romano has now revealed that Inter want to tie down the 29-year-old to a new contract before Christmas. The journalist added there has been some progress and the Serie A club will sit down with Brozovic’s representatives soon to continue talks.

Romano also added that the Inter hierarchy are confident an agreement can be reached.

Spurs Web Opinion

It would not be surprising if Brozovic’s representatives had leaked news of Tottenham’s interest to the press to put pressure on Inter.

I believe that Spurs need to go after a more dynamic midfielder like Kessie over someone like Brozivic, with Skipp and Hojbjerg both very much capable of doing the Croat’s job.
