Toby Alderweireld sends message of support to Moussa Sissoko; midfielder responds

Tottenham Hotspur were yesterday hit with the news of another injury blow.

The club confirmed that Moussa Sissoko will not return to training until at least early April after undergoing surgery.

Scans revealed that Sissoko damaged his medial collateral ligament in his right knee during the New Year’s Day defeat at Southampton.

Spurs striker Harry Kane also tore his hamstring in the latter stages of the same match at St Mary’s.

Toby Alderweireld has today taken to Twitter to send a message of support to his Tottenham team mate with Sissoko responding to show his appreciation.

Club record signing Tanguy Ndombele has also had his injury issues this season with Spurs head coach Jose Mourinho accusing the Frenchman of always being injured (Metro).

Sissoko had been in impressive form for Spurs this season having scored two goals in 26 games in all competitions (transfermarkt).

Alderweireld ended speculation about his future in North London last month by signing a deal contract until 2023.
