Toby Alderweireld speaks out on Manchester United

Tottenham Hotspur take on Manchester United at Wembley this Sunday afternoon, as they look to continue their fine form in all competitions.

Spurs have been on a fantastic run over the festive season, which is now stretching into January too, with a shock loss to Wolves the only blemish on a near-perfect record.

Pochettino’s men currently sit just six points off the top of the League, and a win against another top six club would go a long way to cementing their title credentials.

Last time these two sides met in the League, Spurs ran away to a 3-0 win at Old Trafford, with Lucas Moura grabbing a brace.

It is likely to be a more even affair this time around, with new interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer enjoying a fantastic run of wins.

The United manager has secured five wins out of five so far as boss, but Tottenham will prove to be his first real test.

Tottenham Hotspur defender Toby Alderweireld is expecting a much-improved United side.

He said (Independent): “Of course we know they will be in a better moment than they were before. We know they have very good players and a very good team. Quality, with some special players. So we have to be tough to beat them. But we can be confident and prepare ourselves the best we can to be ready for them.

“We are doing very well, although we can do better. We have a hungry group who wants to play well and beat big teams. We want to do something special and that is normal. That desire is what you can see on the pitch. You see it every season we are out there. There is still some room to improve, though.”
