Jamie Carragher believes that Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool will play out a high-scoring draw on Saturday.
Both Tottenham and Liverpool come into the game unbeaten, with just two points separating the sides in the Premier League table.
Spurs and the Reds have been scoring goals for fun this season, having found the back of the net 15 times apiece in their first six league games of the season but both sides have also given up many chances to the opposition in most of their encounters this season.
Ange Postecoglou’s men go into the game high on confidence, having produced a gutsy performance away at the Emirates last week and emerged with a deserved draw.
The atmosphere at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has been electric in the club’s two home matches against Manchester United and Sheffield United so far this season, and that is expected to be the case once again tomorrow.
Jamie Carragher predicts a high-scoring draw
Carragher believes that there will be plenty of goals in the tie, backing the two sides to play out a 2-2 draw.
When asked to predict the result, he told An Echo of Glory podcast: “I’m going to go 2-2, there will definitely be goals.
“I just can’t see either side keeping a clean sheet. I think Liverpool have got too much firepower not to score at least one. And I still think when you watch the West Ham game last weekend we’re still giving up a few chances.”
Spurs Web Opinion
Liverpool certainly have the firepower to hurt us if we give away chances like the ones we did at the Emirates but at the same time, we are quite easily capable of scoring two or three ourselves. So, this will be another entraining game, possibly even more so than the North London Derby.
