While Tottenham were one of the favourites to finish in the Premier League’s top four spots coming into the season, they find themselves languishing in the 14th spot after 12 games following a disastrous start to the season.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men have failed to get going so far this campaign and, barring a few games, have looked a shadow of their old selves.
Tottenham once again missed an opportunity to build on their resounding win against Red Star last week as they were held to a draw at home by Sheffield United on Saturday.
Despite the poor start that Spurs have made to the season, Spurs midfielder Moussa Sissoko has insisted that the team is still capable of finishing in the top four and qualifying for the Champions League for the fifth straight season (Sky Sports).
Sissoko’s comments haven’t gone down well with some Spurs fans who felt the team need to do their talking on the pitch. Some others were quite sceptical if a top four finish is still possible given the team’s recent form.
Bottom four more than likely he meant

The way we are playing, we would be serious contenders for a top 4 place in League 2. Would have to beat Colcester though..

Does he realise we are nearer relegation places than the top four

Stop doing this. Embarrassing.

Too much talk and not enough action on the pitch.

Dream big Moussa, I’m afraid that’s all it’s going to be, a dream. 12 games in, 5 points off relegation, 11 points off top 4. At a guess need at least 60 points from the next 26 games. Where the hell are they going to come from??

Spurs Web Opinion
Given the form of Chelsea and Leicester, top 4 does look like a distant dream at the moment. However, we are only a little more than a quarter of the way through the season and we are likely to see many more twists and turns from now until the end. We need to turn around our form quickly and build some momentum if we are to have any shot of finishing in the top 4.
