Tottenahm fans will love Danny Rose’s attitude over winning the Champions League

Tottenham showed tremendous heart and determination to overcome Manchester City and progress to the semifinal of the Champions League.

Few people gave Spurs a chance of overcoming Pep Guardiola’s side but despite being without several key men, Tottenham beat City on the away goals to set up a clash against Ajax in the semifinal.

In fact, Tottenham have defied the odds throughout this year’s Champions League campaign. Spurs looked like they were going out of the competition in the group stages after securing just one point from their first three games but managed to miraculously qualify to the knockout rounds after beating PSV and Inter Milan before holding Barcelona to a draw at the Camp Nou.

Since then Spurs have eliminated both Borussia Dortmund and Manchester City in the knockout stages despite going into both ties as underdogs.

Tottenham full-back Danny Rose has insisted that Tottenham have now set their sights on winning the trophy and do not fear any of the teams left in the competition.

The 28-year-old insisted that the hard run that Spurs have had until now gives them the belief that they could go all the way.

Speaking to the Evening Standard, Rose said, “We’re in the semis and we’ve had a hard run. We started the tournament very badly. We had to get something from Barcelona [in the final group game] and we did [with a 1-1 draw to qualify].

“We beat the potential German champions Dortmund [in the last 16] and potentially the English champions in City, so we’ve taken the hardest route to the semi-finals and we’re full of confidence.

“Can we win it? Why not? We’re in the semis and we’ll see how it goes. We are in a great position.

“We’ve taken a very hard route to get there and the manager expects us to beat anyone we play against, whether that’s in England or in the Champions League.

“It will be no different in the semi-final. We’re looking forward to it and we are not scared of anybody.”
