Tottenham able to complete a free transfer for winger at end of the month

In a potentially huge development in Tottenham Hotspur’s rumoured pursuit of Ryan Fraser, Bournemouth have now officially confirmed that the winger has rejected a short term contract extension to see out the season at the Vitality Stadium.

Fraser has been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham for the last couple of months, with the winger said to have set his heart on a move to the Lilwhites (Football Insider).

His deal with the Cherries runs out at the end of this month and Tottenham have been installed as the favourites to snap up the 26-year-old (Mirror).

The Sun reported last week that the Scotland international will not sign an extension to finish the season with Eddie’s Howe’s side, potentially giving Spurs an oppurtunity to snap him up when his contract runs out on June 30.

The Cherries have now confirmed on their official website that they offered Fraser a short term contract for the final nine games of the season but the long-serving winger turned down the offer.

Fraser clearly does not want to risk injury during the final nine games of the season and put a big summer transfer in jeopardy. I doubt if he would refuse to sign an extension with Bournemouth until the end of the season unless he already has a verbal agreement with some club over a summer move.
