Tottenham academy starlet’s contract expires this summer after impressive pre-season

Tottenham Hotspur have a number of promising young academy starlets coming through in North London at the moment, with Oliver Skipp, Troy Parrott, and Japhet Tanganga leading the way.

The latter could become an important figure at Spurs with Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld potentially leaving on free transfers at the end of the season.

However, what has not been reported enough, is that Tanganga is also set to leave Spurs in the summer if he does not sign a contract extension.

Transfer Markt report that Tanganga’scurrent contract expires on 30 June 2020, after it was extended earlier this year.

Tanganga impressed during the pre-season tour of Asia this year and has also made his full Spurs debut in the last two months after appearing in the League Cup against Colchester United.

Spurs Web Opinion:

There is no way Spurs don’t give this guy a new deal. Poch seems keen on him to come through as one of the next emerging academy stars and would not have handed him a debut if the club were simply going to let him leave on a free in the summer.
