Tottenham ace nominated for UEFA player of the week award

Tottenham produced a professional performance in the Westfalenstadium on Tuesday night overcome Dortmund 1-0. The result meant that Spurs beat the Germans 4-0 on aggregate and progressed to the final 8 of the Champions League.

While several players performed admirably, namely the likes of Sissoko, Vertonghen and Kane, one player’s contribution was perhaps more vital than the rest – Tottenham skipper Hugo Lloris.

The Frenchman came up with top drawer saves early in the game to keep Dortmund out as the host started the game with a lot of intensity. If Lloris had been beaten early in the game, the match could have taken a completely different shape.

Lloris has been nominated for the UEFA Player of the Week award for his performance, alongside Dusan Tadic, Romelu Lukaku and Moussa Marega. You can vote for the Tottenham captain here.

Just when some Spurs fans were expressing doubts about Lloris’ consistency, the Frenchman’s has come up with two sensational performances against Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund, once again proving why he is regarded as one of the best shot-stoppers in the world.
