Tottenham and Arsenal hold talks with same two-time Premier League winner

Tottenham Hotspur are keen on exploring a move for an experienced two-time Premier League winner, but the Lilywhites have just learned that Arsenal have also stepped up their pursuit of the player.

As the summer transfer gets closer, unsurprisingly, the free agents across Europe are the ones who are attracting the earliest attention.

Leroy Sane is among those whose contract runs out this summer, and unsurprisingly, it seems clubs are wasting no time in stepping up their pursuit of the Bayern Munich man.

It was reported back in February that Tottenham have reached out to Leroy Sane to enquire about his availability but they are not the only Premier League side eyeing the 29-year-old.

A couple of weeks ago, it emerged that Arsenal are also keen on taking Sane to the Emirates, and now, a fresh report has provided the latest on the Gunners’ pursuit of the player.

Arsenal and Tottenham have both held Leroy Sane talks

TBR Football have now revealed that both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have already held conversations with Sane’s representatives regarding a summer move.

The report explains that both North London clubs have stepped up their pursuit of the winger, but they face plenty of competition from other English clubs.

Liverpool, Manchester United, Newcastle United and Aston Villa are all interested in offering the former Man City man a route back to England.

However, as things stand, none of these clubs have made a firm contract offer to Sane as they believe that the player’s preference is to remain at Bayern.

What is Sane’s contract stance at Bayern Munich?

TBR Football explain that prior to Christmas, Sane had decided that he wanted to leave the Allianz Arena at the end of the season, but things have changed over recent months, with the player now open to remaining at the club.

After successfully persuading, Joshua Kimmich, Alphonso Davies and Jamal Musiala to sign new deals, the German club are now expected to try to do the same with Sane.

A new contract is thus expected to be put on the table for the pacy wide-man, with Bayern ‘pushing’ for him to stay.
