Tottenham Hotspur are plotting a move for a 23-year-old Premier League centre-back, but they will have to break the bank to land him.

Some at Tottenham are panicked about the possibility of losing Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero in the summer, with both players on the radars of several top clubs across Europe.

It has been reported that Van de Ven is keen on playing Champions League football regularly, and clubs are thus queuing up to prise him away from the Lilywhites.

It appears that Spurs may be preparing for the possibility of one of their big guns at the back leaving, with the Lilywhites now credited with an interest in a Brazilian centre-back.

Tottenham are eyeing a summer move for Murillo

It has now been revealed by TEAMtalk that Nottingham Forest’s Murillo has emerged as one of the most sought-after defenders in the Premier League ahead of the summer transfer window.

The outlet claims that Forest are ‘increasingly likely’ to sell the centre-back if offers of around £60m-£70m are tabled.

The report claims that Tottenham are one of the sides keeping tabs on the Brazilian’s progress, while the likes of Arsenal, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich are also alert to his situation.

However, it is two other Premier League clubs who hold the most serious interest in Murillo.

Spurs’ London rivals leading Murillo transfer race

TEAMtalk say that Liverpool and Chelsea are both showing ‘strong and serious’ interest in the 23-year-old ahead of the summer window.

The outlet claims that it is the Blues who are leading the pursuit for Murillo, having done extensive groundwork on the defender over the last 12 months.

The West London club believe that the former Corinthians man is a perfect fit for the profile of centre-back they are after and even considered a bid for the player last summer.
