Tottenham and Barcelona only clubs to show concrete interest in £25m star amid Pini Zahavi twist

Tottenham Hotspur could be forced to rely on agent Pini Zahavi to land a Brazilian talent that has caught the eye of several European sides, as competition for his signature begins to intensify.

Tottenham’s interest in Rayan Viktor is not new, with the club having previously sent scouts to watch the Vasco da Gama youngster.

The 19-year-old’s reputation has grown rapidly in recent months, with several top European sides now keeping close tabs on Viktor amid talk of a possible Brazil national team call-up.

Viktor currently has a release clause of around £34.3m in his Vasco contract, but reports suggest that figure may not stay the same for long.

Vasco da Gama proposes new contract to Rayan Viktor

According to a report from ESPN Brazil, Vasco da Gama has already submitted a formal renewal offer to Rayan Viktor, with their proposed new deal set to see his contract extended until December 2028, adding two more years to his current terms.

It is understood that the new offer includes both a pay rise and an increased release clause, with Vasco keen to safeguard the player from mounting European interest, including that from Tottenham, while also gaining more leverage in any potential negotiations.

Although his current clause is believed to be worth around £34.5m, reports indicate that Spurs could have previously secured Viktor for a lower fee.

However, once the new deal is signed, the winger’s valuation is expected to rise to around £25.3m (€30m), up from the £15.2m (€18m) quoted in the last window, a figure that would make him the most expensive sale in Vasco’s history.

Pini Zahavi’s involvement hints at Tottenham’s serious intent

While several European clubs remain interested in Rayan Viktor, Tottenham are one of only two sides said to have shown concrete intent, alongside Barcelona, having sent scouts to observe him and made direct enquiries.

The Brazilian’s rise has also started to attract powerful intermediaries, including Pini Zahavi, one of football’s most influential agents.

Zahavi’s growing involvement in the situation is seen as a sign that Viktor’s next move could soon become one of the most closely followed in South American football.

Tottenham are no strangers to Zahavi, who had a strong relationship with former chairman Daniel Levy and was previously linked with a key role in the failed pursuit of Leroy Sane last summer.

His re-emergence in this deal may well indicate that Spurs are willing to operate at the top end of the market to secure Viktor’s signature.
