An attacking midfielder, who departed the Premier League on Saturday, has revealed that Tottenham were interested in signing him.
At the start of the January window, it was reported that Tottenham were tracking a whole host of attackers across Europe.
It was widely claimed that strengthening their attack would be Tottenham’s top priority this month.
However, despite losing the likes of Lucas Bergvall, Mohammed Kudus and Richarlison to injuries, the Lilywhites have been unable to add to their forward options.

Tottenham and Chelsea called Lucas Paqueta
Earlier in the window, it was reported that Spurs made advances towards Lucas Paqueta, who has now completed a return to Brazilian club Flamengo.
The Brazil international has now revealed that he turned down interest from both Spurs and Chelsea to head back to his former club.
Paqueta said on Flamengo TV: “Tottenham called, Chelsea called, and the funny thing is that Tata (my agent) called all excited and said: ‘Chelsea is calling, they’re going to make an offer’. I replied: ‘Okay, but what about Flamengo?'”
Could Spurs pull a surprise out of the hat on deadline day?
Many Tottenham supporters are understandably frustrated that the club have not added more firepower upfront, given the issues the team has had in creating chances and scoring goals from open play.
Thomas Frank has not closed the door on late arrivals at Spurs, but he made it clear that he does not want any short-term stop gaps.
With time now running out and with no report suggesting that Tottenham are particularly close to any deal, it will come as a major surprise if the Lilywhites manage to pull off a late signing.
