Tottenham and Juventus on alert for want-away Manchester United star

Rumoured Tottenham Hotspur target Anthony Martial is out of contract at Manchester United next summer and remains intent on leaving the club, according to the Daily Mirror.

The 22-year-old is said to be unhappy at Old Trafford and is said to want to depart the former Premier League champions after feeling his career has stalled under Jose Mourinho.

The former Monaco player missed out on a place in France’s World Cup squad this summer and had to watch his team-mates become World Cup winners due to be being overlooked by Didier Deschamps.

United do have an option to extend the winger’s contract by a further twelve months, which they are expected to do to stop him from walking away for free.

Tottenham and Juventus were both heavily linked with a move for Martial during the summer transfer window.

His agent, Phillipe Lamboley said before the start of the season that his client is ready to move on.

He was quoted by the Mirror as saying: “After thinking about all the possibilities, Anthony wants to leave Manchester United.

“It is a well-considered decision. He is under contract, United will have the last word and we will respect the decision of the club, it will go to the end of its commitment.

“We do not have the same vision on Anthony’s future. Without the unconditional support of the fans, Anthony would have already asked to leave United.”

Martial has made five starts in his eight appearances this season.
