There has been a big development in the race for Tottenham target Patrick Dorgu, with Man United becoming the first club to launch an offer for the left-back.

Patrick Dorgu is wanted by Tottenham and Man United
One can understand the growing list of admirers for Dorgu, who has come on leaps and bounds over the last 18 months at Lecce.
The 20-year-old, who started out as an attack-minded wing-back, has regularly been used as a right-winger this season, demonstrating the sort of versatility that one rarely sees in someone so young.
It has been widely reported over recent months that Dorgu is on Tottenham’s radar, but over recent days, some outlets have revealed that it is Man Utd who are now pushing ahead with a move for the left-back.

Man United make Patrick Dorgu offer
According to Fabrizio Romano’s latest update, United made a formal offer of €27m (£22.8m) plus add-ons for Dorgu.
However, this was not enough to convince Lecce, who have told interested parties that they want a fee of around €40m (£33.8m) for their talisman.
Romano claims that more ‘contacts are expected’ between Man Utd and Lecce, while Napoli are also watching the left-back’s situation with interest.
Interestingly, the journalist adds that Dorgu himself is ‘keen’ on sealing a move away from the Stadio Via del Mare this month.

It would be inexplicable of Spurs to let Dorgu join Man Utd
With Tottenham’s only natural left-back, Destiny Udogie, suffering his second serious injury in less than a year, the Lilywhites are crying out for a new left-back.
In Dorgu, there is a player who appears to be the right tactical fit and someone who is seemingly on the market. It would be difficult to fathom if Tottenham did not get involved in the race and allowed the Red Devils to land the Dane unopposed.
