There has been a big development on the future of Club Brugge starlet Aleksandar Stankovic, who has been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur.
Since the start of the calendar year, it has been widely reported that Tottenham have scouted a 20-year-old Serbian midfield sensation, who thrived at Club Brugge following his switch from Inter Milan last summer.
Stankovic, son of Inter Milan legend Dejan, turned a lot of heads with his impressive displays in Belgium over the last 12 months.
The likes of Man United joined Tottenham in the race for the 20-year-old defensive midfielder over recent months, but the Lilywhites have now been handed some bad news.

Inter Milan activate option to buy-back Tottenham target Aleksandar Stankovic
TEAMtalk confirms that Tottenham and Man United were the two clubs who held high hopes of landing the Serbian this summer.
They were joined in the race recently by Arsenal and Chelsea, who had also conducted checks on Stankovic as part of their recruitment work.
However, all four Premier League clubs have to give up on their hopes of landing the midfielder as Inter have moved to take their academy graduate back to the San Siro.
Despite significant interest in Stankovic from England, the Nerazzurri have now exercised a buy-back option worth just over £20m for the youngster.
Stankovic was tempted by Spurs’ interest
TEAMtalk say that according to their sources, the midfielder was ‘genuinely tempted’ by the prospect of a move to the Premier League this summer.
It is alleged that the interest from Tottenham and Man United was ‘viewed positively’ by Stankovic and his representatives.
However, in the end, the opportunity to relaunch his career at the San Siro proved ‘too tempting’ for the midfielder.
