Tottenham announce loan news involving 20-year-old

Tottenham Hotspur invited a number of academy players along to the pre-season tour in 2019 under Mauricio Pochettino, with a few of them impressing over the few games.

Young Troy Parrott and Japhet Tanganga were the two stand-out players, but midfielder Jack Roles also enjoyed an impressive cameo, notably during the Audi Cup match against Bayern Munich.

Roles was later loaned out to Cambridge United for the first six months of the season, due to return to North London in January.

However, Spurs have now announced that the two clubs have come to an agreement to extend the loan deal until the end of the season.

Roles has yet to make his professional debut for the Lilywhites, but has been an instant hit in Cambridge, so much so that he was named League Two player of the month in October.

In 17 league games for Cambridge, Roles has managed 858 minutes and four goals (Transfer Markt).

Spurs will now hope to see the 20-year-old kick on and push to be involved under Mourinho next season.
