Tottenham announce pre-season tournament with two PL rivals

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that they have arranged pre-season friendlies with both Arsenal and Chelsea at the start of August.

Tottenham have signed up for a three-team tournament along with the Blues and Gunners, with the funds raised from the series set to be split between Mind and the respective club foundations.

Spurs will face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday, August 4 (7.45 pm) and then will host Arsenal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on August 8 (2 pm), leading into their opening Premier League match against Manchester City on August 15.

The other match in the tournament will see Chelsea and Arsenal facing each other at the Emirates Stadium on August 1 (3 pm).

Football.London have revealed that £5 from each ticket sold will support charitable projects, with Mind receiving 25 per cent of proceeds from each of the three matches in the Series.

Meanwhile, each club’s foundation will receive 75 per cent of proceeds from that club’s respective home match.

While it is a nice initiative by the three clubs to donate the proceeds to charity, it is not ideal preparation for Spurs heading into the season. If we do not have our house in order by then, we could be heading into the new season short of confidence after two defeats.
