Tottenham announce the signing of two-time Premier League champion

Tottenham Hotspur have now officially announced the signing of goalkeeper Joe Hart on a free transfer after the Englishman parted ways with Burnley.

The BBC reported yesterday that Spurs were set to sign Hart as a free agent in order to see him compete with Paulo Gazzaniga for the deputy goalkeeper position. This comes after Michel Vorm left the Lilywhites on a free at the end of the season.

It was reported that Hart was due to have his Tottenham medical yesterday, with the announcement coming today.

Across his distinguished career, Hart has won two Premier League titles, an FA Cup, and two League Cup trophies (transfermarkt).

He also has 75 England caps to his name, served as England captain, and has played more than 400 times for Premier League clubs (Wikipedia). Not only this, but Hart won four Golden Glove awards during his time with Manchester City.

Spurs Web Opinion:

I don’t see how anyone can make a logical argument against this being a great signing. He will probably barely play a minute for Tottenham, but will bring a wealth of experience into the dressing room, a commanding voice, and a winning mentality.
