Tottenham announce youngster has been sent out on loan to English club

Tottenham Hotspur have now officially announced that Kion Etete has joined Cheltenham Town on load for the rest of the 2021/22 season.

The 20-year-old spent the first half of the campaign on loan with Northampton Town and, although it took him a while to get up to speed, he soon found his shooting boots.

The Spurs youngster finished his spell in League Two with six goals in 23 appearances across all competitions and will now make the step up to League One to test himself with Cheltenham.

Etete has been a key player for Spurs in both the U23 and U18 squads over the past few seasons, boasting an impressive scoring record in both.

The tall centre-forward has 9 goals and 3 assists in 26 games for the U23s, as well as 10 goals and 2 assists for the U18s in 15 games (TransferMarkt).

With the likes of Troy Parrott and Dane Scarlett likely ahead of him in the pecking order when it comes to youth strikers at Spurs, getting more first-team experience out on loan should do Etete some good.

Spurs Web Opinion:

This will be a real test for Kion now. He should be looking to match his record in League 2 despite making the step up to League One. Six goals between now and the end of the season would be a superb platform to build from.
