Tottenham apparently table 50 million bid for European star

Tottenham became the first ever Premier League club not to sign a single new player in the summer transfer window this year.

However, manager Pochettino may chose to dip into the transfer market in January, if not next summer, to plug some gaping holes in the Spurs squad.

Toby Alderweireld, Mousa Dembele, Jan Vertonghen and Christian Eriksen have all got less than two years on their current deals, with the first three running out in the summer.

If they fail to get these stars to sign up to new deals, Tottenham will have to start thinking about replacements.

One man who Spurs have apparently had their eye on for a while is Ajax centre half Matthijs de Ligt.

The defender played along side Spurs’ Davinson Sanchez at Ajax, and the Tottenham may be able to convince him to rekindle their friendship.

Sanchez, Vertonghen and Eriksen all made the switch from Ajax to Spurs.

A report by Mundo Deportivo claims Spurs have actually tabled a bid of 50 million Euros for the defender, which was assumedly turned down.

It may take up to 70 million to prise him away from the Dutch giants.
