Tottenham Hotspur may not have announced Gareth Bale just yet but the club have changed their Twitter bio to heavily hint that he will be coming soon. This comes after various reports claiming that the deal is already done (Sun).
Not only this, but Spurs appear to have revealed that Bale will wear the number 9 shirt upon his return to North London, rather than the iconic 11.
Football London journalist, Alasdair Gold revealed on Twitter today that Spurs have changed their bio to a home emoji, followed by the numbers 16, 03, 11, and 09.
Of course, the first three are the succession of numbers Gareth Bale had during his first spell at Tottenham when he transitioned from left-back to an attacking forward, implying that 09 is the latest in the sequence.
This comes after seven years away for the flying Welsh winger, with Bale scooping up four Champions League winners medals with Real Madrid in the process.
Spurs fans everywhere will now be holding their breath and waiting for the official announcement.
