Tottenham are a ‘normal club’ insists footballing icon

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has claimed that Harry Kane must quit Tottenham Hotspur if he wants to win the biggest trophies in football.

The former Swedish international believes that Kane has the ability to play for one of Europe’s big clubs based on his first-hand experience of playing against the England captain.

However, Spurs fans will not appreciate the former Manchester United downplaying the significance of Tottenham Hotspur as just a ‘normal club’.

Spurs are currently without a trophy in ten years, with the last piece of silverware being the League Cup.

Ibrahimovic has won some of the top honours in the game during his illustrious career spanning multiple countries including Spain, France, Italy and Holland but insists the former Spurs academy product must move on.

The 37-year-old is now playing his football for LA Galaxy in the USA as his career comes to an end.

Kane, who is currently sidelined with ankle ligament damage until early March signed a new six-year contract with the club during the summer.

He told the Mirror: “When I was in England, I saw him play. I think he is a good striker. He’s still developing, he’s doing good things.

“But I always say, playing in a big club, performing good is different from playing in… with all respect to Tottenham , a ‘normal’ club.”

“I think he can make it. He just needs to make the move, and people will remember you for what you win.

“So if he wants to win, then yes, I think he needs to change”

He added: “I think Tottenham has a great team but they are not on the level to win everything, even if they have a fantastic coach.”
