Tottenham are considering four candidates for head coach role claims talkSPORT reporter

Tottenham Hotspur are now 62 days into their search for a new head coach in what has been nothing short of a PR disaster.

talkSPORT reporter Ian ‘Moose’ Abrahams has taken to Twitter to claim that he understands that Tottenham have four potential candidates under consideration to take over.

Abrahams stopped short of naming the quartet who he believes have been shortlisted as a potential successor to Jose Mourinho.

Tottenham’s search has included plenty of twists and turns. The North Londoners were said to have held talks with former boss Mauricio Pochettino over a potential return to the club, but the Argentine has remained at Paris Saint-Germain.

Antonio Conte was reported to have been in talks before Tottenham called off plans to appoint the Italian after becoming concerned over his reluctance to work with promising young players at the club (Sky Sports).

Former AS Roma boss Paulo Fonseca was said to have been left ‘shocked’ after Spurs pulled the plug on his appointment at the eleventh hour (The Telegraph) when they focused their attention instead on Gennaro Gattuso but also decided against appointing the ex-Fiorentina manager (The Athletic).

The new season is closing in fast and the players who aren’t participating at Euro 2020 will be reporting for pre-season training early next month. Daniel Levy and Fabio Paratici need to get their act together and appoint a manager to lives up to the DNA promise which the chairman made to fans recently.
